Right after I was finished with school this past year I decided I needed a new laptop for my future education! Right.
I knew what brand I was going to buy, but not which model. I researched for about a month on the different HP models. I was stuck between a DV6 and the Elite-book, which my brother highly recommended.
I chose to buy the DV6 when I saw a fantastic sale. I was able to get major upgrades (6gb ram from 2gb, for example) for free! Turns out, if I wanted the same specifications in the Elite-book or a Mac book, I’d pay over $2,000, easily.

My end specifications:
- Intel Core i5
- 6GB memory
- 500GB harddrive
- 15.6inch widescreen glossy screen
- Switchable graphics
The training session for Comps for Kids was a success.

According to my boss at the Seafood Shack, this past week or so, Delaware has experience the worst snow storm in 10-15 years! I’ve experienced much more snow in Colorado, but this is probably the most I’ve seen in Delaware.
Last Friday I got out of school early because the school administration was threatened by the first part of the storm. Later that night the snow came down, hard. I was stuck at home for two or three days. About 40,000 people in Sussex County didn’t have power at one point, including my house. Luckily, ours went back on within 8 hours. My grandmother on the other hand, at her house, had no power or heat for 2 days! The local National Guard was supposed to pick her up on Saturday or Sunday. Never happened. A neighbor who happens to own a 4×4 Jeep Cherokee Sport and was extremely hyper wanted to go for a drive and called me. 30 minutes later, and 5 miles we were on a mission to rescue my grandmother in Lewes! The Jeep was cruising around town on the one lane roads while large power company trucks, and trucks in general, were stuck on the roads. Actually, all the trucks stuck in the roads required us to take an extremely long route to my grandmother’s house. Probably an extra 6 miles. When we arrived at her house we were amazed by the amount of snow on her driveway and in front of her door. My grandmother could not have been able to open the door. My neighbor and I cleared off her deck so she was able to exit the home. My grandmother, being weak and feeble, needed me to carry her down to the Jeep. Her drive way is about 30 yards keep in mind, and through 2 and a half feet of snow, that is a pretty challenging hike. But actually, my grandmother wanted to show off and walk through the snow herself. She did fine, besides almost falling face first into the snow walking down the deck stairs. The journey back to my house took no time at all, and my grandmother was safe and sound, and warm. The next two days I decided it was best to stay up stairs in my office area and play games while my mother and grandmother had “quality” time together.
The Comps for Kids project is making some major progress. This past week I have made major modifications to the website. All the pages have useful content and the contact page is working very well, as expected. I have started writing the documentation for the project. This documentation includes basic use and some legal agreements. Also, an entire presentation booklet will be created soon. I want to make this project an easy set up for anyone who wants to try to start their own similar non-profit organization.
I finally finished the basic coding of the Carolina Drift website. This website will be focusing on the advertisement of car related stores in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Some of the features include: easy navigation, template system and a clean style.
Welcome to my new website! I just purchased web hosting from 1and1.com – great company. If you are looking for web hosting, look no further. It comes with a free domain! (as long as you have the hosting with them. )
Whats going to be on this NEW blog? Updates on my projects and reviews for stuff (games, programs, software, cars and food) I try out!
I’m incredibly tired right now and I can’t write. Peace.
